PG County libraries are a fabulous resource for the Cheverly community. They have established an early literacy program called Reading Ever After which suggests books, activities, and nursery rhymes perfect for littles ones.
Individual branches have variations in their collections and services, many have story-times just for young children, and of course a visit is always a fun indoor activity during cold or rainy weather!
This branch is right up 202 and is the closest to Cheverly, but it is also small. They don't have story-times.
This branch is off 450 and is 10-15 minutes away. They have a large children's section well-stocked with books for younger and older children, non-fiction books geared towards kids, and even some toys to help occupy busy little bodies. They have a variety of story-times throughout the week with books, music, and lots of audience participation:
Babies into Books--a six week series starting September 2nd with stories, songs, and action rhymes for our littlest customers. Drop in. (Limit 15)
Daddy and Me Storytime
This branch is near Prince George's Plaza, about 20 minutes away. It is farther away, but is the largest in size, collection, and services. They have many different story-times to choose from, including bi-lingual and special day care sessions. Free tickets for limited seating times can be picked up at the Children's Desk.
