As a parent, providing a good education for our children is of primary importance. Cheverly families have a wide variety of institutions in both the public and private arenas. So many options can allow you to find the perfect fit for your child and your family, but they can also be a bit daunting to sift through. Here is a break-down of local offerings:
The PG county school board is considering putting to an end automatic sibling enrollment in Enrichment and Specialty Programs (ESPs). Currently, if one child wins (through the lottery) a spot in an ESP, siblings are also allowed to attend. This allows families to send all their children to one school.
The PG Board of Education has not yet voted to change current regulations. They are entertaining a suggestion to "grandfather" in families with children currently in an ESP, but change practices for incoming families.
Also under consideration:
ESPs include Hoyer Montessori and French Immersion.
